Who are we?

Describing IGC is mainly speaking about the people.

We are people with a large background in construction and project management, both in private and public works. We have chosen to remain a small professional company allocating other specialists to each project according to its needs. Our permanent staff tend to remain the same as years go by. Among these are the actual partners and founders – Carlos Schmidt and Luis Gomes Rodrigues, both civil engineers with almost 4 decades of professional experience.

Besides our nucleus we work regularly with more than 20 specialized consultants (engineers and economists) and we developed strong connections with some of the main law firms specialized in construction.

IGC is as well a main share holder in other companies such as a quality control engineering company, a construction company specialized in the recovery of monuments and buildings, an office for architectural design, a company specialized in hydropower projects, having all of these the possibility to mobilize its specialists, (geotechnical engineers, geologists, archaeologists, engineers and architects) to IGC projects.

What we are good at!

IGC was founded in 1989 and focused at first in project management contracts. From 1993 until now we acted also as a claim consultant company working with contractors and employers. From 2005 until now we have also improved our skills in risk management following the new european procedures.

Our work

Besides Portugal IGC has worked mainly in Portuguese, French and English speaking countries using FIDIC contracts, ICC rules as well as local law.
